Building "The Majestic" in the Victorian Village of Ferndale
| Castle Rock's script revolves around the Majestic Theatre. It calls for a very specific lobby layout; the Ferndale Repertory Theatre just wasn't right. |
| It was easier for
construction crews to create a foundation on the city's
Main Street parking lot and build their own theatre. The
old building looks so well established that many visitors
ask what store hides behind it. The film's plot involves fixing up the sad, old theatre building. |

"The Majestic" is filming in Ferndale 25 days. Businesses are open during the filming, although they've been renamed and their front windows are dedicated to the film. During the days they are actually filming on Main Street (rather than the fairgrounds or the cemetery) parking is reserved for prop cars of the period; take the free shuttle service from Berding Street, the Firemen's Pavilion parking lot, or anywhere you see a shuttle sign.
